Animals Working Together

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” ~ African Proverb

Different animal species help each other out all the time in the wild, using their distinct skills to get things they both want, a phenomenon called "symbiotic relationships."  A whole lot of furry and scaly creatures out there that survive on collaboration and teamwork. Check out the resources below to learn more about these cool examples of animal teamwork!

Mutualism:  when animals work together and both receive a positive benefit

(They both get a good deal!)

Homework: Unlikely Friendships in the Wild

1. Research your animal pair and think about how they work together to survive in the wild.

2. Think about ecosystems. Explain how your animals help the ecosystem to thrive (do well).
