Ms. Hynes' Sustainability Makers Lab
Expedition to Alaska and British Columbia
“Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” – Ibn Battuta
This is Ms. Hynes.
Ms. Hynes is ready to become a storyteller. To travel the world and be able to connect to those who are different and the same. To learn about our place in the world, and how to make it better.
Ms. Hynes wants you to journey with her, so that you can do the same.
Ms. Hynes was selected as an 2019 Grosvenor Teacher Fellow with National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions, which is a REALLY amazing experience. She is heading out on an expedition to Alaska and British Columbia where she will learn about the regional ecosystems, cultures, and impacts that humans are having on the environment. On board, she will be collaborating with members from National Geographic, Lindblad Expeditions, naturalists, educators (Shoutout to Mrs. Lindsey and Mr. Cameron- awesome shipmates!), and many others who will assist in her learning!
Here is the educator team!
Mr. Cameron is from Thunder Bay, Ontario and Ms. Lindsey is from Littleton, Colorado. And you know...Ms. Hynes is from New York.
Big Questions:
-
What species will I see while on expedition?
-
How are climate change and global warming affecting these regions?
-
What can humans do to protect the environment?
-
What can I learn from the indigenous people and their wisdom?
